Samsung SDI invests US$ 18.5 million and acquires approx. 15.6 million shares in Canada Nickel and will thus hold 8.7% of the company. Samsung sees advantages above all in CO2-free nickel production, which gives the company a huge boost for sustainable battery production. Shortly before, Agnico Eagle acquired 12% of the company and in February 2023 Anglo American secured 9.9% of the shares in the company. This means that the company is now ideally positioned for the next steps.
