Two companies, two important milestones: Canada Nickel takes a big step toward financing and, with it, a production decision for its Crawford project. Together with Swiss Steel Group, it signed an agreement of intent for a long-term partnership to supply low-carbon semi-finished steel from Canada. Swiss Steel would get exclusive access to large volumes from 2030, and Canada Nickel would gain a buyer for the iron and steel byproduct created during nickel production. Southern Cross Gold benefits twice over from the antimony push in the state of Victoria: a re-elected Labor government would fund Australia’s first antimony processing plant, and Southern Cross, together with Gekko Systems, was also selected as a preferred recipient of a grant program for antimony processing studies. Important: the plant funding is an election promise and depends on the vote at the end of November.
Note: This program is produced and published on behalf of Canada Nickel and Southern Cross Gold and is funded by the companies.
