The U.S. Bureau of Land Management has issued a positive Record of Decision for Equinox Gold’s South Railroad project in Nevada—thereby concluding the federal permitting process. Construction has already begun. According to the feasibility study, the open-pit heap leach project is expected to produce an average of 130,000 ounces of gold per year in the first five years (more than 100,000 ounces per year over 10 years). Capex: $395 million. First production is scheduled for 2028 and will be a key milestone on the path to +800,000 ounces of additional annual production.
